2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR WESLEY SMITH:
ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR
ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR
All students should have the following at every class:
Families are highly encouraged to provide their own instrument. Violins and Violas will bring their instruments to and from school daily. Cellos and basses may leave their rented instruments at home, and use a school instrument during class. Please see Mr. Smith for appropriate vendors to use for your instrument. Do not purchase an instrument from an internet-based vendor without checking with me first. If you find something that you think is a good deal, I can tell you if it is worth the deal, as oftentimes an inexpensive instrument will cost you more in repairs in the long run and will inhibit your child’s potential success. We will have an activity fee of $50 for the 2023-2024 school year. This will include your T-shirt, black binder, any applicable audition and contest fees, and a small materials fee to help cover the cost of purchasing sheet music and supplies for the year. Additional fees may be occasionally required throughout the year to pay for specific trips or items. Please send in activity fee payments by October 2nd 2023*. You can pay your activity fee online through SchoolPay.com, Specify that this is for orchestra through the comments. If SchoolPay does not work for you, bring cash directly to Mr. Smith. Once you have done so, please share a screenshot of your receipt with Mr. Smith, the website does not inform teachers of payment. *If you need an extension or to have a payment plan, please ask Mr. Smith via [email protected] Remind 101 Remind is our primary way to communicate with orchestra students.
